Help Them, Help Them, Help Themselves

I think I should mention that I stopped giving money to Greenpeace last month. And when I say I, I mean I convinced the wife to stop giving them money.
Don’t get me wrong, I fully agree with what they are trying to do. I just disagree with the way in which they are trying to do it.
A non profit company which can afford to offer a starting salary better than my current wage (not up for discussion) seems to me to have lost its way a bit. Even if the money generated by such employment creates more money than is spent on it, it still seems like a betrayal of the reasons why I was giving money in the first place.
It’s like paying a guy to hang around your house, glare at you whenever you walk by him, and every now and then, intercept you on your way to the kitchen and ask you for milk money.
Well you lazy housemate, I’m kicking you out. No more allowance for you. I don’t care how much you like video games and my kinda music. I’ve had enough. GET OUT!
Oh yes, and this strip made me long for home. The land of ‘Eng’ from whence I came. The coffee drought is severe there, and many people end up having early nights in the absence of a caffeinated drink strong enough to slay the ‘Sleepy Beast’.
Speaking of which I believe the ‘Sleepy Beast’ is about to pay me a visit. I must take my leave and battle this demon.
